St. Joseph Parish School Podcasts

Our first podcast, Halloween Radio Theater, was a true team effort. Grade 5 rehearsed, and then read our spooky tale. Grade 4 selected which jokes we should use, and Grade 6 contributed little known seasonal facts. This podcast was made using several cell phone recordings. The calls were posted to an Internet site, where HTML code is generated. That code is then copied to our school web page. As with any new technology, we are learning a lot! We've experienced several episodes of phone recordings that were dropped, or calls that were never correctly posted. There appears to be several bugs in some of the podcasting software as well. No matter! We are having a great time experimenting together!

We try to create at least 2 podcasts a year. Through experience, we are hoping to improve our product with each new production.

We are using podcasting at St. Joe's as a fun way to engage the students in the art of using new technology. We plan on continuing to publish podcasts here at Radio STJOE as a means to broaden the students' knowledge and reinforce their capabilities. Stay tuned for future episodes!
